PRESENT: Eileen Dresser, Shirley Robbins, Jill Thomas, Sue Bridson, Selena Pettigrew, Wynn Davies, Loree Davies, Mollly Plunkett, Marge Lyford.

Eileen opened the meeting with a reflection on “You can make a difference in the world”

MINUTES of the October 22 meeting were approved as written.

TREASURER’S REPORT - No report.
WELLNESS CENTER - No report
EVICTION PREVENTION - No report

FOOD PANTRY - The food pantry spent $1,308 last month. Will be preparing turkey baskets to be picked up by residents on Saturday, November 23. Because of an abundance of potatoes and apples this year they will get them free but will be purchasing the turkeys, green beans, cranberry sauce, and corn meal.

ALLIED DUNNS MARSH NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION by Selena. Last week a program was offered to present information about the affordable care act. Although there were several service providers present, only a few residents attended. Representatives of Mad Town O’s will be canvassing the neighborhood with information about voter registration and health care. Many residents have been receiving notice that their Badger Care will be discontinued.

It has been proposed that the three neighborhood associations in the Allied neighborhood combine. The city of Madison is offering vacant land for sale on which 20 plus single family homes will be built. It will be called Mosaic Ridge. Ten people have applied. The applicants are receiving information about finances on buying a home and how to be a good homeowner. Selena is discouraged about the lack of participation of neighborhood residents in programs that would benefit them. Molly suggested that a community dance might attract Hispanic residents and would be willing to help plan one. Also she knows someone who might volunteer to be a Spanish translator.

OTHER CONCERNS: Question about about whether the letters to the Allied Partner congregations were sent out. Wynn will talk to the pastor from Abundant Life about becoming active in Allied Partners. At our next meeting, should discuss possibility of changing our meeting time to another Tuesday of the month. It would be a priority to have a time when Linda Ketcham can be present. Also, need to know if other members have a preference for a different time.
