ALLIED PARTNER MINUTES
October 23, 2012

Present: Shirley Robbins, Ruth Hoffman Hein, Eileen Dresser, Jack Tiffany, and Marge Lyford.

Because the Allied Partner by-laws require at least six members to be present in order to make a quorum, we had an informal discussion with no action items taken.

Discussion topics included:
The By-laws. Jack mentioned that according to the by-laws, we should have a finance committee, but that in our case, it is possible for the monthly meetings to function as a finance committee.
The Food Pantry: Eileen reported that about 140 families have signed up for turkey baskets. The pantry had ordered more turkeys... so they will need to decide what to do about that situation. The food pantry board voted to use some of their funds to pay for extra foods to allow residents to have their choice of fixings, i.e. potatoes, rice, cranberry sauce. stuffing.
Christmas Gifts: Ryan will be distributing lists of children/youth who are requesting gifts.
Contacting Churches: Need to get serious about visiting congregations to promote the work of Allied Partners. Jack said that he plans to work on a new video about Allied Partners and it’s programs, with the help of Center of Photography at Madison volunteers.

Next Meeting: November 27th, 2012 at 4 PM
